Muscat: The official holiday of Eid Al Fitr will be from 29th of Ramadan to 3rd of Shawal.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, issued Royal decree No 56/ 2020 to determine the dates of official holidays.

The first article of the decree said: "The official vacation days for the units of the state’s administrative apparatus, and other legal persons, and for the private sector establishments for the holidays and events indicated below are specified as follows:

Firstly:

A) The first Islamic New Year on Muharram 1st.

B) The Prophet’s Birthday: 12 Rabi 'al-Awwal.

C) Isra and Mi'raj: 27 of Rajab.

D) National Day holiday: November 18 and 19.

"If any of the two days of the weekly vacation, or both of them fall within the aforementioned days of vacation, then one day will be compensated." Additionally, "The date of the National Day holiday may be modified in the public interest."

The Second article states:

A) Eid Al-Fitr: From 29 of Ramadan until 3rd of Shawwal.

B) Eid Al Adha: From 9 to 12 of Dhu al-Hijjah.

Compensation for Friday will be made if it falls on the first day of either holiday.
