The Ministry of Local Affairs and the Environment will launch in a week a mobile application that will allow citizens to report environmental violations by sending directly to the Environment Police and also to the municipalities, photos and indications concerning polluted areas.
This new app is replacing the old application "Tunisia Clean" which was launched on the site of the Ministry of Local Affairs and Environment but that was not effective, according to users. It was already in the experimental phase, according to the Chief of the Environmental Police, Jamel Boujeh.
What is new in the new app. is the almost mandatory feedback from the municipalities.
According to Boujeh, they will be obliged to respond to the citizens by indicating that they are in the process of intervening, are planning to intervene or are not entitled to intervene because the place mentioned is not within their prerogatives.
