The Egyptian Cabinet approved on Wednesday two draft laws amending some provisions of the Real Estate Registration Law No. 114 of 1946, and the Income Tax Law No. 91 of 2005.
The amendments of the Real Estate Registration Law aim to facilitate the procedures for registering property, through several steps, including: separating tax payment from registration procedures and fees, with the possibility of registration despite the absence of a sequence of registered property in several cases.
As for amending the provisions of the Income Tax Law, the lump-sum tax will be imposed on the last seller only, regardless of the number of contracts.
The value of the lump-sum tax was determined according to the value of the disposal, in order to achieve tax justice. The value of tax will be EGP 1500 for the contract up to EGP 250,000, and if the value of the contract is more than EGP 250,000, the tax value will be EGP 2000.
The contract that is more than EGP 500,000 up to EGP 1m, the value of the tax will be EGP 3,000 and for the contract that is more than EGP 1m, the tax will be EGP 4,000 without delay penalties.
During the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed the measures to increase the number of border guards forces and their capabilities in Rafah.
Madbouly stressing that this step enhances confidence in the Egyptian Armed Forces, which made the northeastern borders of Egypt safe after years of threat and terrorism.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved a draft law to replace the Egyptian Authority for Compulsory Training for Doctors, with Egyptian Health Council. It will be a public service body affiliated with the Egyptian presidency, which aims to regulate the fields of health in Egypt, and raise the scientific and applied level for doctors and workers in various health specialties, developing the level of medical and health training for them and for graduates of various medical and health colleges.
According to the draft law, the Egyptian Health Council is responsible for setting general policies that guarantee health practices that achieve the highest degree of patient safety and satisfaction, while setting the necessary standards for the application of professional ethical charters, as well as setting standards and procedures.
The Council will also supervise the examinations eligible for obtaining a license to practice health professions, and setting standards for medical institutions.
In addition, the cabinet regularized the status of 63 churches and affiliated buildings.
