MANAMA - The new headquarters of the family courts complex opened in Hunainiya, West Riffa, yesterday.
The new milestone was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and Supreme Council for Women president.
She paid tribute to His Majesty for supporting the council-led efforts to empower women and promote pro-women legislations, like the family law.
Princess Sabeeka stressed the role of the new judicial milestone in promoting reconciliation, settling domestic disputes, reducing divorce rates and protecting families.
She toured the new complex and commended co-operation between the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ministery of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and civil society institutions.
Princess Sabeeka also underlined the importance of updating laws continuously to keep abreast of social shifts.
