Bahrain’s commercial sectors have witnessed a significant recovery with an increase in shopping activities marking the advent of the New Year.Hotels and tourist facilities in Bahrain stepped up preparations, as the country has this year witnessed the biggest celebrations in its history on this occasion, including distinguished performances and programmes that attracted citizens, residents and tourists.

The hotel industry, in particular, witnessed an increase in booking volume, in terms of rooms or New Year’s celebrations. Also, many citizens and residents travelled to spend holidays abroad, which reflected positively on sales activities of travel and tourism agents.The retail sector also registered a remarkable recovery, as the markets witnessed high demand for festive goods namely clothes, flowers, sweets and gifts, especially with promotions and discounts offered by many stores at the end of the season.
