The Saudi embassy in Amman on Monday organised a symposium on the Middle East Green Initiative with the participation of stakeholders in the Kingdom.

Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef Bin Bandar Al Sudairi highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts to protect the environment, face climate change and draw a roadmap to reduce carbon emissions in the region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Head of the Senate's Energy and Mineral Resources Committee Senator Saleh Irsheidat praised the "unprecedented" initiative, expressing hope for it to be implemented in the Arab region in a way that it can achieve its vital goals.

National Agricultural Research Centre Director General Nizar Haddad highlighted the importance of paying more attention to environment and climate change issues at the economic, commercial and investment levels.
