Tunisia - Prime Minister Najla Bouden met on Monday at the Kasbah Palace with Hassouna Abdelmalak and Ridha El Khafi, who donated two properties to the Ministry of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly for the creation of two institutions for the care of elderly people in the governorates of Ariana and Siliana.
She welcomed these two commendable initiatives which aim to support the State's efforts to protect and care for elderly people without family support.
Such charitable actions enshrine the values of solidarity and mutual aid in Tunisian society, she said, stressing the need to strengthen the momentum of citizen solidarity and the social responsibility of economic enterprises to support national efforts to protect vulnerable categories and people without family support.
For Hassouna Ben Abdelmlak this donation is an execution of the last will of his mother, the late Emna Ben Attia. Located in Siliana, the Emna Ben Attia establishment for the care of the elderly covers an area of 2931 square meters and contains 56 rooms spread over four pavilions with a capacity of 24 seniors per pavilion. The cost of the project amounts to 13 million dinars.
The Om El Khir institution for the care of the elderly in Ariana covers an area of 2314 square meters. It has 6 functional rooms and 28 rooms for residents spread over two floors with a total capacity of 96 beds. For the businessman Ridha El Khafi, this donation is a national and humanitarian duty and a recognition of the elderly and their place in society.
Minister of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly Amel Moussa and the Minister of the State Properties were present at the meeting.
