Tunisia - Minister of Social Affairs, Malek Zahi and Minister of National Defence, Imed Memmich, signed Monday an agreement for the establishment of a drug storage unit at the military hospital in Gabes.
Under this agreement, the structures under the Ministry of Defence will support the construction of a drug storage unit at the military hospital in Gabes. The National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM), will provide funding for this project which will be operated thereafter by the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), said a statement from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
This agreement aims to ensure better distribution of drugs for insured persons suffering from serious illness, forced to travel frequently to take their medicines, said the Minister of Social Affairs.
For his part, the Minister of Defence said that the agreement is part of the support provided by the military institution to the efforts of the state in the social field.
This cooperation responds to calls from citizens of the governorate of Gabes, as well as the southern governorates, to bring health services closer to citizens, particularly those suffering from serious diseases including cancer, he added.
