The volume of non-oil trade exchange between Egypt and India during the first 11 months of 2022 totaled about $4.1 billion, of which $723 million were Egyptian exports, Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir said in a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Cairo Ajit Gupte.
The Egyptian minister also noted that the value of Indian investments in Egypt amounts to about $3.2 billion in 52 projects in the fields of chemicals, carbon black, packaging, food products, and tourism.
During the meeting, Samir mulled methods of bilateral economic cooperation with the Indian Ambassador.
The meeting touched on several means of benefiting from the economic, commercial, and industrial potentials of both countries.
The pair also discussed a number of international issues of common interest.
Samir pointed out that there are many distinct investment opportunities available in the Egyptian market for Indian investors, especially in the fields of medicines, renewable energy, communications and information technology, and automotive.
