German unemployment fell in November, official figures showed on Tuesday, as recovery on the job market continued despite soaring COVID-19 cases in the country.
The Labour Office said the number of people out of work fell by 34,000 in seasonally adjusted terms to 2.428 million. A Reuters poll had forecast a fall of 25,000.
The seasonally adjusted jobless rate dropped to 5.3%.
"The recovery of recent months has continued on the labour market. The impact from the worrying current pandemic situation in Germany is barely visible," said Federal Labour Agency Chairman Detlef Scheele.
