Cairo –  Egypt has imported goods and products at a total value of $61 billion during the first nine months (9M) of 2021, an increase of 16% from $52.4 billion in the same period last year.

China came on top of the countries Egypt has imported from in January-September 2021, acquiring 16% of the total imports value, followed by Saudi Arabia with 8%, the US with 7%, and Germany with 5%.

The Arab republic spent $7.8 billion to import fuel and mineral oils in 9M-21, higher than $5.1 billion in 9M-20, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The state-run agency has announced that Egypt exported goods and products worth $29.7 billion in January-September 2021.
