Cairo – Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, held a meeting to discuss Bardawil Lake’s development project in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, El-Sayed El-Qusair, and officials of Belgium’s DEME Group.
Representatives from the Egyptian government and DEME Group will form a committee to conduct the feasibility study of the proposed project, according to a cabinet statement on Wednesday.
Results of the study will be announced on 15 December.
The project, which will be implemented within the framework of the development of Sinai, will create job opportunities and increase live aquatic wealth in the Bardawil Lake.
it will be implemented over three phases, including the development of 30 million cubic metres in the first phase, while the second and third phases each include developing 40 million cubic metres.
It aims to increase fish production to 50,000 tonnes per year.
