In a Wednesday session headed by Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh, the Cabinet approved the Amman Municipal Council Election Law and electoral appeals for 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The new law comes to enable the Independent Election Commission (ILC) to manage the council’s election process in all its stages in accordance with the provisions of its law and the Amman Municipality Law, and to define the jurisdiction of the ILC’s board of commissioners in this process.
The Cabinet also approved an amended law for the administrative organisation of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship for 2021, which aims to accommodate the expansion of the ministry’s duties.
The ministers also passed the general policy for entrepreneurship and the national strategic plan for the years 2021-2025 and referred them to all ministries and institutions.
The policy aims to create a friendly, incubating and stimulating environment for entrepreneurship in the Kingdom and remove obstacles to maximise the economic potential of Jordanian entrepreneurship and its growth, contributing to bolstering national economy and sustainable development, and reducing poverty and unemployment.
On the other hand, the Cabinet agreed to launch the electronic platform for registering the Kingdom’s imports, starting from January 1, 2022.
The decision comes with the aim of enhancing quality control on products imported to the Kingdom and raising the safety levels of the products imported into the Jordanian market.
