A memorandum of technical co-operation in the fields of geospatial data and land management was signed in Seoul between the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of land, infrastructure and transport of South Korea, on the sidelines of the Tunisian participation in the "Smart Geospatial Expo 2016", held from August 31 to September 2 in the Korean capital.
According to a statement released Tuesday by the Ministry, the Memorandum stipulates strengthening co-operation between the two countries in the fields of geospatial data infrastructure, digitisation in land management and exchange of experiences and expertise for geospatial data.
Leading the Tunisian delegation to the exhibition, Minister of Public Works Mohamed Salah Arfaoui met Mr. Choi Hong-Suk, representative of Korean bank "Eximbank".
He, on the occasion, stressed the need to boost bilateral economic relations in the fields of infrastructure and urban planning.
Arfaoui also stressed the importance of stepping up the exchange of expertise and modern technologies in order to establish an intelligent digital system for the management of land data in Tunisia.
The representative of "Eximbank" has, for his part, expressed his country's willingness to finance the third phase of this project (intelligent digital system for the management of land data), through a loan granted by the Korea Economic Development Co-operation Fund, valued at $ 37 million.
