TUNIS- Tunisia will produce a quarter of its energy output in 2020 through renewable energy projects worth 2.5 billion Tunisian dinars ($835.56 million), Prime Minister Youssef Chahed said on Thursday.
Chahed added that Tunisia will produce 1,000 megawatts of renewable energy by 2020.
The announcement comes after the government approved on Thursday wind power projects for international investors.
Last year, Tunisia said it would invest 12 billion dinars in electricity and other energy projects from 2018 to 2020.
