The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), the developer behind the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism project in Saudi Arabia, is partnering with the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) to deliver high-quality vocational training programmes.
The two years and three months diploma programmes will initially prepare 500 young Saudis for careers that support the growth of the most promising tourism destination.
These programmes are focused on the following disciplines: hospitality, airport services, mechanical and electrical engineering and renewable energy services, said the company in a statement.
The programmes will open-up a wide range of job opportunities for those involved, such as guest relations, concierge services, restaurant chefs, renewable energy technicians and security operations mechanics. It is also supported by high quality training providers, it stated.
"HRDF shares our ambition to support local Saudi talents discover rewarding careers. Through this partnership, we are creating a significant pipeline of qualified local professionals, with the right skills and resources needed to establish a new and successful tourism sector in the kingdom," remarked its CEO John Pagano.
In addition, HRDF has signed an agreement with TRSDC to cooperate on future initiatives to support the development of the local human capital.
Turki Aljawini, Director General Saudi of HRDF said: "These initiatives are set to provide a long-term contribution to Saudi Arabia and Vision 2030, equipping young Saudis with the knowledge and expertise needed to start a rewarding journey towards a successful career."
"We are looking forward to getting started with TRSDC and onboarding the first students to the vocational training programme very soon," he added.
According to Pagano, the partnership with HRDF follows a series of previous steps taken by TRSDC to create opportunities for local people and communities.
Earlier this year, a MoU was signed between TRSDC and Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) which promises the creation of 1,300 local jobs in Saudi Arabia.
"Our people are at the heart of all we do here, and we are extremely proud that so far we have built a workforce that is made up of over 50 per cent local talent," stated Pagano.
