AMMAN — The number of tourists to Aqaba during the first half of this year rose by 56 per cent, according to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Chief Commissioner Nasser Shraideh.

A total of 477 thousand tourists visited Aqaba in the first half of 2018, compared to 306 thousand tourists in the same period last year.

Shraideh added that the strategy for the current year aims to increase the number of tourists to Aqaba to 750 thousand tourists and that the numbers achieved so far are an indicator that all the efforts exerted are on right track to reaching this year’s goal, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
