Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) signed today a cooperation agreement with NourNet Company for Telecommunications and Information Technology to expand the Saudi Arabia Internet Exchange and improve the internet systems as part of the activities of the LEAP Conference, organized at the Riyadh Front Center for Exhibitions and Conventions by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The agreement was signed by CEO of Internet Services Unit at KACST Ibrahim bin Salem Alshadokhi and Amjad Hafez, CEO of NourNet.
The agreement aims at encouraging the nationalization of the Internet content at the Data centers through the Saudi Arabia Internet Exchange’s initiative as well as enhancing the status of the Kingdom as a digital regional hub through improving and supporting the utilization of the digital infrastructure and the data centers across the Kingdom.
