ArabFinance: Talabat, one of the leading food and grocery delivery apps in Egypt and the Middle East, announced launching new programs for its riders in Egypt to help enhance the efficiency and service level provided to its customers, the company said in an emailed press release.
The new programs include insurance coverage against accidents, a partnership with Bajaj auto, e-wallet support, launching walkers and increasing the number of bicycle riders by 25% as well as female riders.
Through these new initiatives, we are aiming to enhance our heroes safety, which is our top priority, and their overall wellbeing to help improve their work conditions and quality of life, Hadeer Shalaby, talabat Egypts Managing Director, commented.
Furthermore, Talabat signed an agreement with the leading motorcycle supplier GB Bajaj Auto to facilitate rider payments.
The partnership includes a special program for talabat riders who want to purchase their own motorcycles, with affordable instalment packages from 4 to 24 months without down payments. GB Bajaj Auto also offers special prices on maintenance and after sales support for talabat riders.
talabat also launched a new walkers model to increase job opportunities by giving the chance for people who do not own a bike or a bicycle to have a job and earn a steady income.
Walkers will surely cover a much shorter distance than other riders, but we see this as a great chance to create more and different employment opportunities for the Egyptian community, Shalaby added.
The first phase of the program has been launched with 100 Walkers only, with an aim to increase the number of walkers by 5x as the model proves its success.
