Rabab Fayed, the Chairperson of the Giza Misr Transmission and Distribution, believes there is great interest from state officials to provide all kinds of support to private sector companies in all fields and help them bring in modern technology and obtain loans from local banks.
She said that the business of private companies has multiplied several times during the last four years, which contributed to the introduction of various and multiple activities for companies.
For example, Giza Misr’s business was previously limited to the installation of high and medium voltage electrical lines. Now its activity includes the installation of electrical networks and huge power stations such as in Sharqeya, Shorouk, 10th of Ramadan, Sixth of October, and the Egyptian side of the interconnection between Egypt and Sudan. Recently, solar energy projects have also been implemented by the company.
She said that the company is participating in a number of projects in the Decent Life Presidential Initiative, stressing that the participation of private companies in this initiative is a badge of honour for all of them.
Fayed added that the huge business volume implemented by Giza Misr, in cooperation with the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, gave the company distinguished experiences that helped it expand its markets outside Egypt. The next step will be to go to African markets.
She said that Giza Misr has also gained over the past years the confidence of Chinese companies that have come to work in Egypt. A company like Power China has entrusted a large part of the contracts it implements in Egypt to Giza Egypt, especially after the company’s high performance in implementation and its great commitment to the delivery dates of projects.
Fayed expressed her optimism for the future of the Egyptian economy, especially after the volume of development projects that are being implemented now and the state’s interest in areas that were neglected and deprived, such as the cities and villages of Upper Egypt, as well as the governorates of the Delta and the northern coast.
She noted that the returns of these development projects will bring abundant benefits in the future, especially since there are many foreign companies that have begun to study the opportunities that exist in Egypt in order to bring their business to the country.
