Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is all set to hold the first ever number plate auction exclusively for classic vehicles on June 14.
The Licensing Agency at RTA said that 63 distinguished licensing plates will be on offer, comprising two to five-digit number plates.
The auction, which will be held at the auditorium of RTA Head Office, will kick off at 5pm. Potential bidders are required to complete registration three hours before the start of the auction proceedings.
“The auction is set to attract considerable number of participants who are interested in buying such plates, particularly as the numbers on offer include 13, 444, 500, 5555, 6000 etc. Five digit number plates include 80000 and 99999,” the Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA, Mohammad Abdul Kareem Nimaat said.
Recently, RTA launched the new service of licensing of classic vehicles in association with the Automobile and Touring Club (ATC). “The approved design for the plates of these vehicles is special and tailored to fit this type of vintage cars so that they maintain their uniqueness,” said Nimaat.
