The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal has unveiled a new 20,000-square-meter FIFA standard football and rugby pitch in the resort, joining an elite portfolio of global hotels to have the professional size pitch as part of its leisure facilities. The football ground, which will be available for the training seasons of professional teams, sports camps, corporate incentive activities and other sporting activities, is open now and available for bookings.

Complemented by views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the property’s new recreational facility boasts an exclusive Club House with a private gym and recovery room, making it the perfect spot for professional sports teams visiting Abu Dhabi locally and internationally. The venue provides a separate 7-a-side pitch and a dedicated goalkeeper practice area, and can also be transformed into a rugby field upon request to host professional matches.

Combined with the resorts’ other recreational and event facilities such as the Grand Lawn and the fairytale wedding ballrooms, the new football and rugby pitch is also perfect for guests looking for a unique space to book outdoor events, team building activities and kids’ camps. For in-house guests looking to polish their golf skills, the property offers putting areas and practice mats upon request.

General manager Christian Hoehn said: “The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal has reaffirmed its status as one of the premier luxury leisure destinations in the capital with the launch of our brand-new FIFA standard football and rugby pitch. As one of the very few hotels in the capital to have the facility, and certainly the only one with stunning views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, we join a select number of hotels able to provide a hub for elite athletes to train and stay. We look forward to welcoming our ladies and gentlemen and continuing the renowned service that The Ritz-Carlton hotels provide.”
