RAK Saqr hospital's departments to get huge facelift

Dr Abdullah Al Nuaimi, director of Ras Al Khaimah Medical District, said they are geared up to develop, expand and maintain the departments in view of the pressing demand.

"The work flow in both departments is not be affected during the development work," he pointed out.

"The hospital has provided all possible alternatives to ensure offering the medical services to their fullest extent."

Mohammad Rashid bin Arshid, director of Saqr Hospital, said the proposed developments are meant to keep providing high-level administrative, medical and therapeutic services.

"The development work will continue for three months and will include expanding the waiting rooms and raising their capacity."

Figures show that the 124-bed hospital has reached an occupancy rate of 59 per cent. "Our specialised clinics saw 25,946 visitors in the first half of year."

These are in addition to 47,517 visitors to the hospital emergency departments and 3,952 inpatients, he disclosed. "Up to 1,229 diverse surgeries were carried out in the hospital over the first six months of the year."
