American President , Barack Obama urged Iraqis to hasten to form a government that includes different components and to show unity in facing the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria "ISIS" organization, warning that "the wolf is at the door" and that the American air strikes cannot accomplish a lot.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Obama pledged to avoid the expansion of the American military mission in Iraq to defeat ISIS militants which is seen increasingly as a threat not only for Iraq but for the entire region.

Following talks with two of his top national security adviser on Iraq, Obama came out to announce that the American air strikes helped the Kurdish Peshmerga forces to restore Mosul Dam from ISIS elements and avoid a potential breach of the dam could have sent a flood up to Baghdad.

Since the eighth of August , the American army carried out a total of 68 air strikes in Iraq, including 35 strike in support of Iraqi forces near Mosul Dam.

The American President's meetings came during a brief stop in Washington before returning to continue his vacation, which lasts for two weeks in the state of Massachusetts.

Obama insists not to allow the United States to repeat Iraq war launched by his predecessor George W. Bush. He said that the Iraqis should not be swept into a false sense of complacency with the omission of threats after his decision this month to use air strikes against ISIS.

He said, "Do not think that because we have launched air strikes to protect your people, the time is now to stop moving forward and get back to complacency, which weakened the country in general."

Washington is watching the political repercussions of the events in Iraq with great interest and urges the new government of Prime Minister , Haider al-Abadi on forming a united government after a failed attempt of former Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki.

Obama speculated that if the Iraqi government is formed quickly, the various governments in the Middle East and around the world will be ready to provide assistance after refrained from doing so because of political paralysis in Baghdad.
