MUSCAT -- The Directorate-General of Planning and Development in co-operation with the Department of Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Higher Education, started yesterday the International Certificate in Computer and Internet (IC3) training programme. The programme will benefit 48 staff from the ministry and will continue till February 26.

Dr Thiyab bin Salim al Abri, DG of Planning and Development, said: "The programme is a step towards developing staff and their skills in computer and Internet to align with the objectives of the electronic government and the Digital Oman Society." The IC3 programme is considered the first recognised one internationally in training. The recognition is based on the standard criteria for measuring skills and basic knowledge in computer and Internet.

IC3 certificate is a confirmation, which indicates that its holder has the knowledge and the required basic skills in the fundamental usage of computer equipment, programing, networks and Internet.
