Khaled Abd El Sadek has been voted unanimously as CEO and Managing Director of Mohandes Insurance Company (MIC) by the company’s board of directors as of 18 August, succeeding Reda Fathy who resigned earlier this month.

Abd El Sadek is considered one of the most prominent personalities working in the Egyptian and Arab insurance market, because of his extensive experience in the field of insurance and reinsurance, as he held many senior positions in the insurance market.

He previously served as insurance MD at MIC for one year. Prior to that, he served as technical deputy chairperson for two years from 2018 to 2020.

He was also CEO of Misr Insurance (DIFC branch) in the UAE, where he helped the company expand its reinsurance business regionally and internationally.

Abd El Sadek has more than 29 years of experience in the industry, having started his career with Misr Insurance, leading the oil and gas department. He also served as a board member at Misr Insurance.

He had a fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, and a Reinsurance High Diploma from the Cairo University. He was also registered as an insurance expert by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) in Egypt.

MIC was one of the first companies to operate in the Egyptian insurance market. Its ownership structure is divided between the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers, the House of Expertise Group, the Egyptian Kuwaiti Holding Company, and the Suez Canal Authority.
