Muscat: North Al Batinah Governorate will get 16 new tourist facilities, the Oman News Agency has said.

A popular tourist destination, the governorate currently boasts 36 facilities, with about 1,320 rooms. With the new facilities, the count is likely to touch 2,000 rooms, the agency said.

"The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has seen promise in the tourism sector, especially in this region. However, activities to promote tourism have been stalled by the pandemic," Hassan bin Sulaiman Al Jabri, Director of the Heritage and Tourism Department in North Al Batinah Governorate, has told the agency.
