Jeddah Labor and Social Development Minister Mufrej Al-Haqabani has said that he is working to unify the merged ministry to ensure Saudis are employed and those less fortunate provided a proper safety net, to fulfill the aims of Vision 2030.
Speaking at the 7th edition of the Social Dialogue Forum here Wednesday, Al-Haqabani said the initiatives are all geared toward developing a sustainable economy. Citizens are a key component of this plan, he said at the forum entitled "Labor and Society: Provision of Decent Jobs for All."
Al-Haqabani said the forum allowed the ministry to get the views of a wide range of stakeholders, which would translate into benefits for the public and private sectors. Vision 2030 would only succeed if all Saudis are involved in the process, he was quoted as saying by a local publication.
In reference to the royal decree that merged the ministries, Al-Haqabani said the aim is to carry the message of the new mandate to workers, employers and government agencies. This was important because all stakeholders need to provide input on their needs, he said.
Al-Haqabani said the forum would focus on reviewing and discussing the outcomes of previous sessions. "We don't want to continue debating unless the outcomes of previous sessions have yielded results and ensure a positive impact on the parties involved in the dialogue."
