Bid to end abuse

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: The Public Authority for Handicapped Affairs and the Public Authority for Social Security (PASS) held a meeting Thursday to discuss the conditions for granting early retirement to the guardians of handicapped people, reports Al-Anba daily. This is in accordance with Article 24 of the Handicapped Law 8/2010 and the provision will be available to guardians of people suffering from medium to severe disabilities. The aim is to help only those who really deserve the retirement while preventing others from misusing the social service, noted a reliable source.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Higher Committee for Celebrating National Festivals and Head of the Ideal Mother Award Committee Sheikha Fareeha Al-Ahmad affirmed that the country offers huge support to the social care homes of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and is concerned about the wellbeing of the residents, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

During a visit to Orphans and Childhood Home Monday evening, Sheikha Fareeha said the country is keen on supporting this category and tries to solve all their problems to enable them lead a normal life. Director of Family Welfare Department Bader Al-Awadi said Kuwait is concerned about this category and makes all attempts to merge them in the society.
