Iran has exported 182,000 tons of commodities worth $17 million in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21) via the customs office of Khorramshahr in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, a senior official said.

Talking to IRNA on Monday, Managing Director of Khorramshahr Customs Office Aref Bavi said cement, organic materials, barium sulfate and dates were the main export commodities.

He stressed that the goods were mainly exported to Iraq, the UAE, Pakistan, Turkey, Canada, Kuwait, the UK, Slovenia and Germany.

Khorramshahr Port accounted for the largest volume of non-oil exports and imports by vessels weighing less than 1,000 tons last year.

A report issued by the Governor General's Office of Khuzestan province noted that during this period, Shahid Bahonar and Qeshm ports accounted for the highest transit and capotage figures while Bushehr Port carried out most crude imports and exports.

Also, Shahid Rajaie and Imam Khomeini ports accounted for the highest non-oil transactions by ships weighing over 1,000 tons.

During this period, 6.03 million tons of transit goods were offloaded in ports. About 3.97 million tons of transit oil derivatives were offloaded and 450,707 tons oil products were loaded in these ports, accounting for 73.3 percent of total transit goods.

Shahid Rajaie Port also accounted for the highest figures for offloading and loading containers.
