Riyadh The Saudi Arabian Oil Co, known globally as Saudi Aramco, has announced awarding an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract to India-based Subsea 7 and Larsen & Toubro Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

The L&T unit is set to carry out EPCI business in three subsea pipelines and oil production deck manifolds at Berri and Zuluf, which are owned by Aramco, the Indian firm said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday.

Marking the fifth joint venture (JV) with Aramco, LTHE stated that the project would be established at its facility in Hazira in Gujarat, India.

The value of the deal, however, was not disclosed, but L&T said that award comes as part of four offshore projects to be implemented by the consortium as part of Saudi Aramco’s Long-Term Agreement (LTA) programme.

“Over the past three decades, LTHE has served the offshore oil and gas industry with consistent delivery that brings oil majors and national oil companies to place repeat orders for challenging projects,” the statement concluded.
