Cairo – The Indian Embassy in Cairo, on behalf of the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, signed an agreement to purchase 300,000 doses of remdesivir, a drug used in the treatment of patients with coronavirus (COVID-19), from Egypt’s Eva Pharma, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Monday.

The first shipment is expected to take place in the coming few days, the Indian Ambassador to Cairo, Ajit Gupte, said.

Gupte noted that the deal will help India in its fight against the COVID-19.

It is noteworthy to mention that Egypt sent three military airplanes with shipments of medical aid to India to support the country against the pandemic.
