Work is moving at a steady pace on one of the largest stores of Swedish furniture giant IKEA in the Middle East, coming up at Oman Avenues Mall, a key retail destination being developed in capital Muscat by Al Taher Group.
A diversified Omani business group, Al Taher had last year signed a strategic agreement with the UAE based conglomerate Al Futtaim Group to introduce Ikea at Oman Avenues Mall, in Muscat.
The sultanate’s flagship IKEA store is due for completion by the first quarter of 2022.
The road connections and development works are ongoing under the supervision of Al Taher Group.
One of the sultanate's largest shopping destinations, Oman Avenues Mall is a division of LuLu Group International based at Abu Dhabi.
The new outlet will not only serve the capital city and the vicinity, but also attract shoppers from across the sultanate, cementing Oman Avenues Mall as a mall which serves the entire nation, it stated.
Gogi George, General Manager, Development and & Leasing, Lulu Group International said: "We are pleased to welcome IKEA – the world’s largest home furnishing retailer – to Oman. We are excited to be partnering with such an innovative brand."
"Its entry into Oman Avenues Mall's tenancy list is in line with mall’s strategy of being responsive to changing consumer behaviours and preferences. Oman’s leading destination will grow even larger with the opening of IKEA and will welcome a host of new lifestyle experiences," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
