AMMAN — The Hajj Fund in 2020 achieved a net profit of nearly JD7 million, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalaileh announced on Wednesday. Khalaileh, who is also the chairman of the fund council, said that the net profit, the amount to be distributed to shareholders showed a profit rate of 4.13 per cent, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

According to the minister, the number of depositors at the fund increased from 41,082 in 2019 to 45,394 in 2020, witnessing a growth rate of 10 per cent.

The amount of deposits in 2020 increased by 17 per cent, to reach JD166.894 million, in comparison with JD143.516 million in 2019, which shows the fund’s credibility, he added.
