Jewellery Arabia is a glittering showcase of Bahrain’s world-class craftsmanship, Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa delegated the Deputy Premier to attend the opening of the show at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Jewellery Arabia 2019 brings together 561 exhibitors from 36 countries for a dazzling five-day display of finished jewellery, timepieces, precious gems and more.
Luxurious pieces on display include a BD35 million pink diamond ring, a BD4m pearl necklace, and an exclusive BD135,000 wristwatch with only 50 pieces available around the world.
More than 55,000 visitors from Bahrain and the region are expected to attend the jewellery extravaganza.
Present at the opening ceremony were government ministers, ambassadors and dignitaries.
Shaikh Ali wished the exhibition success to achieve its goals in boosting the jewellery industry in consolidation of the exhibition’s prestigious reputation in this field.
He pointed out that the Premier’s annual patronage of the show stems from his vision to develop the exhibitions and conferences industry in Bahrain and boost its role as one of the important contributors to the national economy.
He underlined Bahrain’s remarkable history in the gold and jewellery manufacturing industry as well as skilful national craftsmanship.
The exhibition has succeeded in retaining its outstanding status over 28 years by wooing visitors, shoppers and stakeholders in the gold and jewellery industry to view latest products, including jewelleries, luxurious watches, precious stones and artistic masterpieces.
He toured the exhibition and expressed his admiration for the outstanding and innovative products on show.
