CAIRO, 19th May, 2016 (WAM) -- A Flynas flight from Khartoum on its way to Syria today had to make an emergency landing at Cairo Airport due to a technical malfunction.

The Middle East News Agency, MENA, quoted an airline source at Cairo Airport as saying that while the Flynas flight was passing over Egyptian airspace, the pilot asked the Airport Traffic Control tower for emergency landing permission at Cairo Airport due to a technical malfunction in one of its engines, preventing the flight from completing its trip.

Airport authorities and the Civil Protection Department received the plane and are conducting maintenance checks.
