Following full compliance to COVID-19 protocol you approach the front desk where courteous receptionists welcome you with a smile as dazzling and warm as the sun outside. The front office lady we met was extremely friendly, quick, efficient, and handed us the keys to our room on the 14th floor.
One look at the room, and it was easy to see that anyone would love to spend a weekend (or much longer) in such a spacious, clean, and very comfortable accommodation providing us a very pleasing view of the city and an uninterrupted vista of the rugged Al Hajar Mountains.
After a hard day’s work, all you might want to do is plonk down on the bed, watch your favourite movie using the super-fast complimentary WiFi, or immerse yourself in a tub, enjoying the high quality amenities provided to make the best of your stay. Keep in mind that the room’s LED TV also comes with satellite channels.
The landmark Sheraton Oman Hotel, located in Ruwi, has been synonymous with five-star hospitality for over three decades and is one of the tallest buildings in the city of Muscat. The hotel is nestled in its familiar and original environment with elevated rooms. Here one along with the family can dive into the super luxury escape and unlock a world of fun that amalgamates the traditional with the modern.
If you are looking for a workout, enjoy the Sheraton Fitness, Jacuzzi & Spa, with modern equipment and for total pampering, visit the spa for a massage, facial or body treatment.
With a fantastic staycation offer, hardly a thing to miss, you can avail a lot of complementary facilities as an honoured guest of the hotel while you enjoy your short but wonderful stay.

The Pan Asian Brunch
Head over to Turbine & Taps between 1:30 and 4:30pm every Friday for an unmissable brunch. Inspired from Muscat's service, industry and engineering being the forefront of innovation. Through ingenious mixology, curated blends and a world of hops, this restaurant promises culinary firsts and an extensive gallery of beverages to explore in contemporary style.
There are many words to describe the Pan Asian Brunch, but few can do it justice, not only in taste but also in terms of the sheer variety of dishes. Bursting with flavour are the scrumptious Thai corn fritters, Thod Khao Pod, served alongside wonderfully cured, smoked and spiced sushi and sashimi.
The fresh and tasty salad cart provides a wonderful interlude between dining experiences, whether you covet the Som Ta Thai papaya salad, or the Pepes Ikan, an Indonesian grilled fish wrapped in banana leaves. Do, however, save room for Chinese BBQ chicken and gyoza dumplings featuring a variety of fillings, including duck and prawn.
Your extravagant journey does not end there, however: the next course comprises Vietnamese rolls and money bag wontons served with extra zing provided with a hearty helping of sweet chilli and chilli vinegar. That’s followed (yes, there are more) by shrimp and vegetable tempura with eggplants, carrots, onion and mushroom, and another wondrous sauce selection, featuring a tamarind dip, tempura dip and wasabi aioli.
You might not want to eat another bite by this stage. Understandable, but what you’ve been served so far is just your appetiser. A sumptuous main course, consisting of Gulai Ayam (yellow curry with chicken), beef rending (Indonesian coconut beef stew) and an aromatic yellow rice together, stir fried with garlic and vegetables is simply not to be missed.
The old adage – save room for dessert – is just as apt here as it would be on any other gastronomic journey. You’d be hard-pressed to choose between Sangkaya (Thai coconut custard), banana fritters, Japanese Mochi, Klepon (Indonesian sweet rice cake) and ice Kachang, a Malaysian Shave ice treat with nuts. Do not waste time choosing what to savour…have them all, instead.
When: Every Friday, 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Omani Sabla Night
The Omani Sabla Night at the Sheraton is simply about doing great things with understated skill: great food, great themes, and a great staff that brings to life the true essence of Omani tradition and culture.
Visitors to the sabla can experience first-hand the traditions of Oman: the utensils, dresses, implements and cooking methods are on display at the Courtyard on Fridays. There is an effort to showcase local recipes, with food preparation going live on the weekend, advertently giving food aficionados a reason to rejoice.
‘Sabla’, Arabic for ‘meeting place’, recreates life in Oman with an aesthetic touch to true Omani ambience. The Courtyard on Friday evenings takes on a village theme, with an array of typical Omani cuisines from past to future through the present made for diners to savour.
Preparation techniques vary from the pots and pans in use yesteryear vis a vis the most modern cooking techniques, all carried out by men and women in traditional attire.
And yes, Omani Halwa, a symbol of traditional hospitality, is also served during Omani Sabla Night.
