Emirates NBD Egypt will provide credit facilities valued at EGP 2 billion for a consortium comprised four construction firms for the establishment of the largest agricultural wastewater treatment plant in El Hamam city at the North Coast, according to a press release.

The four companies are namely Arab Contractors, Orascom Construction, Hassan Allam, and Metito Group, Emirates NBD highlighted.

The treated water is expected to be used in raising the number of the agricultural lands and developing West Delta, with a capacity of 6 million square meters of water per day, the bank added.

The project will include the establishment of a watercourse extending over 120 kilometers to transfer the agricultural wastewater from the Delta governorates to the treatment plant in El Hamam city.

The treatment plant will help in irrigating about 500,000 acres in West Delta at the Western Desert, the bank said.

Through this strategic project, Emirates NBD takes aims at reinforcing banking services for construction companies and assuring its vital role in supporting infrastructure projects and government strategies to expand agricultural lands and establishing urban communities at the Western Desert.
