ArabFinance: The newly built CMA CGM Brazil arrived in Ain Sokhna through DP World Sokhna on July 4th, marking the largest container ship to date, according to a July 7th press release.

The vessel came from Asia carrying a wide range of products, including raw materials for food manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods products, and finished goods for the Egyptian market.

Built in May and operated by CMA CGM Line, the ship is 366 meters long and has a capacity of 15,000 twenty-foot equivalent units.

DP World Sokhna is part of the UAE marine terminal operators across the globe DP World. Its location below the southern entrance to Suez Canal on the Red Sea makes it an important gateway for Asia, Europe, and other markets worldwide.

CEO of DP World Sokhna Ajayy Singh said welcoming such large container vessel “demonstrates our capability and capacity to efficiently handle the largest container ships.”

It is worth noting that Ain Sokhna and Port Said ports, combined, collected EGP 4.89 billion worth of taxes, customs fees, and other tax and fees in March.
