Cairo : Trade exchange between Egypt and France reached $2.2 billion during the period between January and November 2018, the Egyptian trade minister said.
Total Egyptian exports to the European country rose by 7.3% year-on-year for the 11-month period ended last November, recording around EUR 560 million, Amr Nassar added in a statement.
Meanwhile, French imports to the most populous Arab country amounted to EUR 1.6 billion, Nassar noted.
He said that French investments in Egypt are focused in the sectors of food industries, chemicals, construction materials, vehicles, pharmaceuticals, and financial services.
He highlighted the importance of mutual collaboration between the two countries to strengthen and encourage trade ties over the coming period, benefiting from the capabilities of both economies.
On Sunday, the Egyptian Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) announced that trade exchange between Egypt and France reached $2.6 billion in fiscal year 2017/2018.
Additionally, Egyptian exports to France surged by 51.6% year-on-year in the previous fiscal year.
