Cairo – Egypt Aluminum announced that a minor fire broke out due to a malfunction in the rolling line at its aluminium factory in Nagaa Hammadi on Tuesday.

The fire was controlled and put out by the automatic fire extinguishing system at the factory with the aid of the civil defence force and the general occupational safety and health (OSH) department at the factory, according to a bourse disclosure on Wednesday.

No deaths or injuries were caused by the fire and production at other lines was not halted.

Material losses are currently being estimated.

During fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021, the company turned to net profits of EGP 27.53 million, versus net losses of EGP 1.67 billion in FY19/20.
