Dubais Dnata is hiring as air traffic set to grow in 2021

“Whilst the situation remains difficult to predict, we now have a number of vacancies across our airport operations in Dubai,” a Dnata spokesperson said in a statement to Khaleej Times. “We aim to fill these vacancies with those highly-trained, former Dnata employees, who meet our performance criteria but were displaced due to the significant impact of the pandemic on our business. These colleagues have been contacted and invited to return.”

Dubai airports are witnessing increased passenger and air traffic following the reopening of airports and it is expected that UAE’s aviation sector will witness better performance in 2021 as compared to 2020, which has been the worst year in aviation history due to the lockdowns imposed after the outbreak of the pandemic.

The International Air Transport Association (Iata) said on October 1 that 323,000 jobs would be lost in the aviation sector alone in the Middle East in 2020, accounting for about 46 per cent of region’s 595,000 aviation-related jobs.

“Quarantine measures are crippling the industry’s recovery and hampering its ability to support social and economic development. Testing for Covid-19 will enable the Middle East and the world to safely re-connect and recover,” Muhammad Albakri, Iata’s regional vice-president for Africa and the Middle East, had said earlier.

According to Dnata’s website, it has 15,000-plus employees working in the UAE, looking after over 140 airlines and over 80 million passengers ever year at Dubai airport. It has presence in 126 airports across 35 countries on six continents, employing 46,000 workers worldwide.

“As we look ahead to 2021, we are seeing an increasing number of passengers, flights and carriers to Dubai International airport (DXB) and the continuing strength of our cargo business at both DXB and Dubai World Central (DWC),” said the Dnata statement.
