British construction consulting firm Atkins has named Campbell Gray as its chief executive officer for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
Gray will assume his new post on August 2021, replacing Cris Dedigama who will be moving to another role in the company.
The company has a track record of delivering major projects in the Middle East such as the Dubai Metro, Burj Al Arab, Dubai International Airport and King Abdulaziz International Airport, King Abdullah Financial District, Diriyah Gate and Six Flags Qiddiya theme park.
The new CEO is an experienced executive in leading both businesses and projects.
“His strong ability to drive growth and deliver operational excellence… will position the business well for the future,” a statement said.
Gray had worked for Faithful+Gould and Atkins in the Middle East and Africa, the UK and Asia Pacific for 24 years.
In late 2019, he went to join international assets management and construction consultancy Currie & Brown to spearhead the company’s global project management agenda.
“[He] is now returning to Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group,” the company said.
