RIYADH: Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's US visit, attracting investments for the entertainment sector and recreational activities, enthused citizens and fun lovers here who believe that the Six Flags amusement park announcement will open up investments in the Kingdom and attract other major foreign players from the entertainment segment.
Entertainment and culture form an important part of the Vision 2030 spearheaded by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) and chaired by the deputy crown prince himself, and the ambitious plan asserts that the two aspects represent the main pillars of a quality life. Therefore, the government pledged to provide rich experiences to citizens for a quality life in the Kingdom.
Commenting on the entertainment giant coming to the Kingdom, Mohamed Al-Khunaizi, a senior member of the Shoura Council, told Arab News it will do a lot to boost recreational activities in the Kingdom. There are many foreign companies interested in investments in the recreational segment and this announcement will further encourage them to invest in the Kingdom.
Mohammed Zeyad, an event manager, welcomed the announcement saying it aims to offer more entertainment options to citizens to match the ongoing rapid developments in various sectors.
As entertainment is considered one of the most important components of tourism and sought by Saudis and expatriates alike during vacations, to spend quality time with the family and friends away from the daily routine of office life, this effort by the government to offer an entertainment bonanza to the residents will also help substantially reduce the number of people, especially Saudis, going abroad with family during vacations, he added.
The move will also provide stimulus to projects linked with entertainment cities and bring more revenues to the exchequer.
The entertainment industry is an important part of the tertiary sector of the economy and includes a large number of sub-industries devoted to the entertainment sector, handsomely contributing in revenue generation and the economic diversification program.
