The chairman of Emirates said on Monday he hoped the airline would this financial year start to pay the Dubai government back the $4.1 billion in state assistance it received during the pandemic.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said the repayments would be made via dividend distribution to its government owner. He declined to say how much the airline could repay this fiscal.
