Dubai’s long-haul operator Emirates Airline has restored its services on the London route following a disruption caused by extreme winter weather in the UK.

However, the carrier did not discount the possibility of further disruptions as snowy and icy conditions continue to sweep across the UK.

The airline’s flight from Dubai to Gatwick Airport, EK009, was diverted to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport following a runway closure caused by bad weather over the weekend.

“Flights are now operating per schedule,” an Emirates spokesperson told Zawya on Tuesday.

“[But] there may be a few slight delays here and there due to de-icing and other ground impairments.”

Snow had blanketed some parts of the UK over the weekend, causing travel chaos at major airports and disruption on roads.

The cold snap prompted Manchester Airport to close its runways last Saturday. This was followed by shutdowns at Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted airports on Sunday night.
