Al Jazira Group, which has been serving shoppers in the kingdom for 56 years, will open its 15th store in Seef Mall this morning.

The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place at 10am and customers are invited to enjoy the celebrations.

The family-owned company opened its first supermarket in 1965 in Adliya and group general manager Ujjal Kumar Mukherjee, a retail veteran of 35-plus years standing, has been associated with the group since 2010.

“I firmly believe that sustainable, profitable growth can only be accomplished by focusing on three things,” he said, “get the strategy right, get the operations aligned with the strategy, and get the right people in right place that will execute the strategy.

“With the current Al Jazira ‘best of class’ team of professionals we have seen tremendous growth in a very short time.

“On behalf of Al Jazira management, I welcome all our valued customers to the grand opening of our 15th branch in Seef Mall.”

Al Jazira Group has been helping the local and expatriate community in creating job opportunities and currently employs nearly 750 people with a substantial percentage of Bahrainis playing prominent roles within the operation.

The stores are renowned for its variety of products and special sections, including option for healthy, organic, sugar-free, vegan and gluten-free speciality food products, as well as its mouth-watering hot food section that serves healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner in all its outlets.
