UAE - The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has inked a three-year agreement with Dell, a multinational computer technology company, to strengthen cooperation in the field of information technology and security.

Under the agreement, the DoE will benefit from Dell's technical and information-security expertise to develop Abu Dhabi's energy sector, according to a recent press release.

This agreement was reached during GITEX Technology Week 2020, which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 6-10 December 2020.

The DoE and the US company have agreed to cooperate in various areas, including training and research and development (R&D) in information security, and set up technical solutions and initiatives.

The DoE Undersecretary, Mohammed bin Jarsh Al Falasi, said: "This new partnership with Dell is a major step forward towards achieving our goals and keeping up with developments across all technological disciplines taking place around the world."

The Senior Director and General Manager for the UAE at Dell Technologies, Fady Richmany, remarked: "As an entity responsible for driving the development of the energy sector, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) is harnessing the power of technology to modernise, automate and transform its infrastructure."
