MUSCAT -- A photographic journey of some of the best snappers from around the world will take the most stunning glimpses of the Sultanate of Oman that will be showcased in their respective countries as part of an event called 'Oman in Focus' from March 28 to April 8. The team of 10 international photographers will be led by renowned Omani photographer Maisa al Hooti (pictured), a young Omani photographer who has been recognised for her work in and outside Oman to various regions and will capture the rare sights of the country. On the last day of their stay in the country, an exhibition will be held on the premises of the Royal Opera House Muscat to showcase each photographer's best three pictures from the tour.

"Oman is one of the most fascinating countries not only here in the Middle East, but worldwide. Living in a country so captivating makes me proud and enthusiastic to tell the rest of the world how beautiful my country is and that is exactly what my project 'Oman in Focus' is all about," Maisa told the Observer. The event will be attended by diplomatic representatives of different countries to Oman and representatives of sponsors such as the Ministry of Tourism, Oman Air, Omran, OIMFCO and Bank Muscat. "This tour will for sure give the participants a better opportunity to explore the Sultanate and encourage the interested visitors to focus more on deeply understanding the culture and appreciating the beauty and splendour of Oman".

This tour will also help these 10 adventurous photographers to impart their experience to fellow participants and to share their knowledge in photography. The important places to be covered include Muttrah Corniche and Souq, Grand Mosque, Qurum Corniche, Jalali and Mirani Fort, Harmael Fishing Village, Al Bustan, Batinah Region, Nakhl Fort, Western Hajar, Wadi Mistal in Wekan, Millenium Resort in Musannah, Wadi Bani Awf, Bilad Seyt, Al Hamra, Jabal Shams Resort, Misfat al Abriyeen, Jebel Akdhar, Wadi Bani Habib, Saiq al Ayn, Diana's Point, Nizwa Souq and Fort, Wahiba, Traveller's Oasis, Eastern Hajar, Wadi Bani Khalid, Ras al Jinz, Al Ashkara Beach Resort, Old Eastern African Port of Sur, Ayjah Village, Wadi Shab, Fins Beach, Bimah Sinkhole, Musandam and Dimaniyat Islands.
