Six Egyptian airports have renewed their health accreditation certificates for safe travel for the second time. The airports are Cairo Airport, Sharm El-Sheikh Airport, Hurghada Airport, Luxor Airport, Aswan Airport, and Borg El Arab Airport.
The certificate is granted by the Airports Council International (ACI) within the Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) programme to ensure the safety of travelers and workers. With this renewal, Egypt becomes one of the first countries in the world to enjoy this privilege.
Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation, stated that the renewal of this certificate enhances confidence in the health procedures applied at Egyptian airports in coordination with the Ministry of Health, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO). It is also a message of reassurance to travelers regarding the safety of Egyptian airports.
The Minister of Civil Aviation thanked all Egyptian airport employees for their efforts and outstanding performance, stressing that intensifying the preventive measures at all airports and vital facilities continues, in order to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, President of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, congratulated airport employees who contributed to the renewal of the health accreditation certificate, praising their efforts to apply all precautionary and preventive measures.
Noteworthy, 11 Egyptian airports had obtained the certificate of health accreditation for safe travel in 2021. Other airports are in Taba, Sohag, Assiut, Matrouh, and Marsa Alam.
